John's father was Abraham Nabb and his mother was Mary Mather.  His maternal grandparents were Charles Mather and Alice Lever. He had two brothers and a sister, named Abraham, Charles and Nancy.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother named James.  He died at 10 months old in December 1844 in Little Bolton.  He was buried on December 22nd, 1844 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹
