Jane's father was George Millington and her mother was Catherine Thornton.  Her paternal grandparents were William Millington and Elizabeth (Mary) Hewitt. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Wiliam, John, Mary, Hannah, Elizabeth and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the seven known children.
