Charles' father was John Millington and his mother was Ann Shaw.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Mary Connah. He had six brothers and a sister, named John, William, Edward, George, Peter, James and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother named Thomas.  He died at the age of 45 in December 1855 in Hawarden.  He was buried on December 18th, 1855 in Hawarden.¹
