Wright's father was Wright Mather and his mother was Ann Bamford.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Mather and Betty Street. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Handel, Wright, Walter, Maria and Martha. He had an adopted sister named Mary.  He died at the age of 4 in February 1861 in Chadderton.  He was buried on February 15th, 1861 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.^2 1
