Wright's father was Wright Mather and his mother was Ann Bamford.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Mather and Betty Street. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Handel, Wright, Walter, Maria and Martha. He had an adopted sister named Mary.  He died at 9 months old in December 1853 in Chadderton.  He was buried on December 9th, 1853 in Tonge-with-Haulgh.^1 2
