Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in 1833 in Little Bolton.¹

- Aged 8 in 1841, abode: Shaw Street, E Bolton
  Aged 18 in 1851, born L.B.

Thomas' father was Simon Mather and his mother was Ellen Brooks Unsworth. His paternal grandparents were Jeffery Mather and Ann Coop. He had four brothers named Joseph, Geffrey, William and Simon. He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Jane. He died at the age of 54 in September 1887 in Little Bolton. His burial was on February 12th, 1889.²

- In 1851, Thomas (18) was a bed quilt maker with his parents Simon and Ellen in Little Bolton.
  
  In Q2 1855 Thomas married Harriet Horrocks, (Bolton RO).
  
  In 1861, Thomas was away. Harriet Mather (Mar, 24) and daughter Eliza Ann (4) were lodging with Elizabeth Booth (30, head) at Flag Row, Turton.
  
  In 1866, Thomas has his daughter Eliza Ann baptised at Walmsley. She was aged 9.

- From 1851 Thomas' occupation was Bed Quilt Weaver in Bolton.
  
  From 1855 his occupation was Bed Quilt Maker in Bolton.
  
  From before 1879 his occupation was Polisher. He died while still employed there.
