Jeffrey (Geffrey) Mather (Jeffery Mather)

Jeffrey, known as Geffrey, was born in 1823 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on June 8th, 1823 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Geffrey's father was Simon Mather and his mother was Ellen Brooks Unsworth. His paternal grandparents were Jeffery Mather and Ann Coop. He had four brothers named Joseph, William, Simon and Thomas. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Jane. He died at the age of 59 in August 1882 in Farnworth. He was buried on August 8th, 1882 at the St. James (New Bury).³
