Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in September 1768 in Whitefield and his baptism took place on September 18th, 1768 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).¹

Thomas' father was William Mather and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Ingram. His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Joanna Hilton. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard, William, Samuel, Mary and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died due to a childhood disease at the age of 2 in January 1771 in Whitefield. His burial was on January 3rd, 1771 in Prestwich.²²
