  Must have been born late 1798, about a year after marriage and died soon after.

Stephen's father was James Mather and his mother was Ellen Mercer.  His paternal grandparents were William Greshon and Elizabeth Mather. He had six brothers named James, James, Martha, Stephen, Martha and Jno.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died in December 1798 in Bolton.  He was buried on December 12th, 1798 in Bolton.¹
