Martha was born on April 1st, 1805 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on May 19th, 1805 in Dukes Alley Chapel (NC).1  Martha's father was James Mather and his mother was Ellen Mercer.  His paternal grandparents were William Greshon and Elizabeth Mather. He had six brothers named Stephen, James, James, Stephen, Martha and Jno.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at 8 months old in December 1805 in Little Bolton.  He was buried on December 8th, 1805 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
