It is assumed Sarah and Mary Ann are sisters. Both from Halliwell, daughters of John a weaver, and marrying at Deane.
In 1841, Jonathan Hamer, a Chair Maker, son of Thomas Hamer, a Shop Keeper, married "Sarah Grove Mather", daughter of John Mather, both from Halliwell. The signature is Sarah Gore, not Grove.
In 1851, Sarah Hamer (30, Widow) was living with her mother Alice Mather (65, Widow, born Liverpool), a Green Grocer at 127 Derby Street, W Bolton.
Sarah died in W Bolton in 1861, aged 41.
