In 1841, there is a David WInder (18, Mechanic), son of John (36, Boiler Maker) with brothers James, William and Thomas at Spring Gardens, neighbour of Joseph and Mary Mather. This David married Sarah Green in 1853 and were living in Litle Bolton in 1861 (so another family).
24 July 1854, David Mather of Great Bolton, labourer, son of John Mather, weaver, married Esther Heaton.
In 1861, David (labourer at foundary) and Esther (42 & 33) were in W Bolton with Ann, Richard, Alfred, Sarah A and William (8, 6, 4, 2, and 10d).
Son William died and another William was registered in 1863.
13 July 1874, David Mather (52, Widower), son of John (weaver, deceased) married Ellen Catterall.
In 1867, David's wife Esther died, aged 40. With children to care for, David very quickly married Mary Farrall Q4/1867.
In 1881, David and Ellen (58 & 57) were in W Bolton with Alfred, Sarah A, William and Joseph (25, 22, 18 & 14).
Alfred, Sarah Alice and Joseph all married at Fletcher Street Wesylean. David's son Richard emigrated to Victoria, Australia and his family were also Methodists.
