Robert Vicars Mather

Robert was born in 1840 in Bolton and his christening took place there on October 30th, 1840.¹²

Robert's father was Josiah (Joseph) Mather and his mother was Amelia Vicars. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Mather and Mary Priestley. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Mary and Eliza. He was the third oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 74 on October 24th, 1914. His burial was in Southport.

  Robert and familyh are buried is a large tomb-like grave at Duke Street Cemetery, Southport (plot E).
