Richard was born on January 28th, 1788 in Manchester and his baptism took place on March 12th, 1788 in Cross Street (Presbyterian).1  Richard's father was Abraham Mather and his mother was Hannah Dale.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Susanna (Susan) Smith. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Sarah, Frances and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 35 on April 17th, 1823 in Kentucky (KY).2

‌Richard and Mary were married in a religious ceremony in 1807 in Virginia (VA).2  They had a son named Henry.  The family line is yet to be completed.
