Richard married Anna (as shown on grave record)
23 July 1845, Richard Mather married Mary Ann Newman at the Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton. They lived at Derby Street, Bolton, ans later, also at Dukinfield and Wigan and Southport and Farnworth. They divorced 1873 after Richard threw his boots at his wife, and on another occasion hit her with a four pound loaf of bread and gave her a black eye, and threw a plate or porrage and other offences to his wife and daughter. He left for for another woman, Emily Henry. See divorce papers.
Richard and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on July 23rd, 1845 in Wolverhampton.2
