Mary was born on December 20th, 1854 in Pilkington.1  Mary's father was John Mather and her mother was Sarah Ogden.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Mary Allen. She had four brothers and a sister, named Francis, Samuel, Henry, Albert and Rachel.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at 2 months old on February 25th, 1855.
