Mary was born in 1832 in Whitefield and her baptism took place on December 6th, 1832 in Stand.1 2  Mary's father was John Mather and her mother was Mary Allen. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Robert, John, Ann, Rachel, Fanny and Sarah.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 82 in October 1914 in Whitefield.  She was buried on October 21st, 1914 in Stand.3
