3 Jan 1854, Robert Mather, weaver of Whitefield, son of John Mather, a warper married Ellen Greenhalgh, weaver of Whitefield, daughter of William Grfeenhalgh. Both of full age.
In 1861, Robert and Ellen (34 & 29) were in Pilkington with William (6), Mary Ann (4) and "Thomas" (2). Note Thomas should be James.
In 1871, Robert and Ellen (45 & 39) were in Whitefield with William (16), Mary Ann (14) and James (12), John (9), Mark (6) and Robert (1).
