Fanny was born on October 22nd, 1835 in Whitefield and her baptism took place on April 24th, 1836 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).^1 2

Fanny's father was John Mather and her mother was Mary Allen. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Robert, John, Ann, Rachel, Mary and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 6 in July 1842.  She was buried on July 7th, 1842 in Stand.³
