Margaret was born on May 13th, 1610 in Deane.1  Margaret's father was Nicholas Mather and her mother was Susannah Thorpe.  Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Margaret Mather. She had four brothers and a sister, named William, James, William, Thomas and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the six children.
