Louisa was born in June 1873 in Salford.1  Louisa's father was George Mather and her mother was Jane Stewart.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Mather and Mary Howarth. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Mary and Elizabeth. She had an adopted brother named Mary.
