James Mather

James was born in 1753 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on September 23rd, 1753 at St. Peter's (Bolton).

James' father was John Mather and his mother was Jane Holt. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Mather and Ales (Alice) Rothwell. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Ann, Margaret and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 10 in October 1763 in Bolton. His burial was on October 23rd, 1763 at Turton Chapel.¹
