Henry's father was James Mather and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Bentley. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, James, James, Joseph, Ann, Mary, Elisha and Alice.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at 10 months old in June 1831 in Bury.  He was buried on June 16th, 1831 in Bury.²
