Henry was born on August 28th, 1830 in Bury and his baptism took place on September 10th, 1830 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).1  Henry's father was James Mather and his mother was <Unknown>.  His paternal grandparents were John Mather and Betty Bentley. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, James, James, Joseph, Ann, Mary, Elisha and Alice.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at 10 months old in June 1831 in Bury.  His burial was on June 16th, 1831 in Bury.2
