Harry's father was John Mather and his mother was <unknown>. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Peter, Thomas, Samuel, Thomas, John, Noah, Catherine, Ann and Betty.  He was the second youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 44 in January 1800 in Manchester.²
