Hannah was born in 1745 in Manchester and her baptism took place on April 1st, 1745 in Cross Street (Presbyterian).1  Hannah's father was John Mather and her mother was Mary. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Benjamin, Richard, Joseph, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the eight known children.
