Eliza was born in March 1855 in Little Bolton.1  Eliza's father was Wright Mather and her mother was Sarah Powell.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Coup. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Walter, John, Eliza, Mary, Emma and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died as an infant at 4 months old on July 12th, 1855 in Little Bolton.  Her burial was in July 1855 at Christ Church, Egerton (Bolton).2 1
