Elizabeth's father was John Manning and her mother was Betty (Elizabeth) Edwards.  Her maternal grandparents were Charles Edwards and Elizabeth Tomlinson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Charles, Mary and Ann.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died as an infant at 6 months old in March 1826 in Farndon.  She was buried on March 17th, 1826 at St. Chad (Farndon).²
