Rose was born in November 1868 in Sharples and her baptism took place on November 22nd, 1868 at St. Paul's (Astley Bridge).¹²

Birth Notes

Rose's father was William Lowe and her mother was Lucy Duxbury. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Lowe and Sarah Mather. She had five brothers named Henry, Thomas, James, Joseph and John. She was the youngest of the six children.
