Sarah was born in 1817 in Bolton and her baptism took place on December 28th, 1817 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Sarah's father was John Lomax and her mother was Margaret Blackley. She had three brothers and a sister, named William, Edward, Charles and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
