Mary was born in 1820 in Bolton and her baptism took place on June 11th, 1820 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Mary's father was John Lomax and her mother was Margaret Blackley. She had three brothers and a sister, named William, Edward, Charles and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the five children.
