Edward was born in 1809 in Bolton and his baptism took place on July 12th, 1809.1  Edward's father was John Lomax and his mother was Margaret Blackley. He had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Charles, Sarah and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
