Jane was born in 1803 in Bolton and her baptism took place on April 10th, 1803 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Jane's father was John Lomax and her mother was Margaret Andrews. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Edward, Edward, James, John, Martha and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.
