James was born in 1876 in Breightmet.¹

Birth Notes

James' father was Joseph Holt and his mother was Sarah Lomax. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Holt and Elizabeth (Betty) Nuttall; his maternal grandparents were James Lomax and Nancy (Mary) Holt. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Nancy, Benjamin, Mary, Amelia, Elizabeth, Sarah, Betsy and Harriet. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 1 in 1877 in Breightmet.¹
