Alfred was born in 1925. Alfred's father was Walter Henry August Walter Licht and his mother was Olga Augusta Matilda Witthoeft. His paternal grandparents were Heinrich (Henry) Willhelm Licht and Catharine (Elise) Christiane Dorothee Elisabeth Niemann. He had two brothers and a sister, named Lester, Delbert and Dorothy. He was the second oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 64 in 1989.
