Heinrich, known as Henry, was born on September 27th, 1842 in Uelzen. Henry's father was Hans Wilhelm Licht and his mother was Catherine Dorothea Behrens (Kruze).  His paternal grandparents were Heinrich Joachil Licht and Anna Gertrude Ditmer. He had a brother named George.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 75 on August 31st, 1918 in South Dakota (SD).1

‌Henry and Elise were married in a religious ceremony in 1868 in Germany.  They had five sons named George, Carl, Karl, Ernest and Walter.  There are possibly more children.
