Margaret was born in 1787 in Entwistle and her baptism took place on August 12th, 1787 at St. Anne (Turton).1  Margaret's father was James Isherwood and her mother was Susan Crompton. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named John, Thomas, James, Ralph, Robert, Harry, Samuel, William, Anne, Jane and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.
