Mary Janes mother, Lucy, died young so Mary Jane was probably brought up by her uncle Edmund (and his wife Hannah) who she was with in 1891. Mary Jane married Owen Stanton in 1897, and in 1901 uncle Edmund died. Hannah then came to stay with the Stanton family (in 1901), till Hannah also died in 1906.
