Jane was born on December 26th, 1822 in Droylsden and her baptism took place on February 16th, 1823 in Gorton.1  Jane's father was John Hopley and her mother was Jane Povah.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hopley and Anne Morgan. She had two brothers named John and Henry.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died as an infant at 6 months old in June 1823 in Droylsden.  Her burial was on June 8th, 1823 in Gorton.2
