Jane's father was John Hopley and her mother was Jane Povah.  Her paternal grandparents were John Hopley and Anne Morgan. She had two brothers named John and Henry.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died as an infant at 6 months old in June 1823 in Droylsden.  She was buried on June 8th, 1823 in Gorton.²
