Birth Notes

Bertha's father was Thomas Hooton and her mother was Mary Ann Barnes. Her maternal grandparents were James Barnes and Mary Bolton. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, James, Thomas, Thomas, Harriet, Alice, Ann, Alice, Sarah and Jane. She was the second youngest of the eleven children.
