John Holt

John was born in 1752 in Great Lever and his baptism took place on August 28th, 1752 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

John's father was Peter Holt and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Howarth. His paternal grandparents were Richard Holt and Ellen; his maternal grandparents were Adam Howarth and <unknown>. He had a brother and four sisters, named Adam, Margaret, Ellen, Betty and Ellen. He was the fourth oldest of the six children. He had two half-sisters named Ann and Mary.
