Susannah was born in 1800 in Darcy Lever and her baptism took place on June 15th, 1800 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

Birth Notes

Susannah's father was James Hulme and her mother was Betty Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Thornley. She had a brother and four sisters, named James, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah and Rachel. She was the second oldest of the six known children.
