Alice's father was Thomas Heaton and her mother was Ellen Thornley. She had three brothers named Thomas, Meadowcroft and John.  She was the second oldest of the four known children.  She died at the age of 2 in December 1786 in Little Lever.  She was buried on December 29th, 1786 at St. Saviour (Ringley).²
