In 1792, Ellen, wife of Thomas Heaton died, aged 40 and two years later thomas, widow, married Betty Mather.
Ellen and Thomas were married in a religious ceremony on February 8th, 1780 at St. Peter's (Bolton) witnessed by Charles Heaton.2 They had three sons and a daughter, named Thomas, Meadowcroft, John and Alice. The family line is yet to be completed.
