Sarah was born in June 1870 in Birkenhead.1  Sarah's father was Charles Eddowes and her mother was Ann Armstrong.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Eddowes and Martha Jones. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Hannah, Emily and Elizabeth.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.  She died in June 1870 in Birkenhead.1
