Mary Elizabeth Eddowes

Mary was born in December 1874 in Wrexham.¹

Mary's father was <unknown> and her mother was Elizabeth Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were George Eddowes and Mary Jones. She had two brothers named Henry and George. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 83 in September 1958 in Huyton. Her burial was on September 14th, 1957 in Allerton.²

General Notes
- Mary Elizabeth Eddowes (known as Elizabeth) was illegitimate.
  
  In 1881, Arthur (9), Elizabeth (6) and George (4) were living with their grandparents George and Mary Eddowes (51 & 53) at 9 Maderia Hill, Wrexham.
  
  In 1891, Elizabeth Jones (26, born Wrexham) was married to Richard Jones (28, born Corwen) a labourer, living at 1 Mary Ann Square, Wrexham and they had a daughter Elizabeth (1). This may be another as Elizabeth would be 17.
  
  25 Jun 1892, John Davies (19), Collier of 17 Market Street, son of Thomas married Elizabeth Eddowes (18) of Market Street.
  
  1894, 1896 and 1900 John and Elizabeth Davies (MMN = EDDOWES) had three children.
  
  Elizabeth seperated from John Davies and partnered Richard Jones. The 1911 census shows they merried in 1898, but there is no marriage record.
  
  In 1901-02, Richard and Elizabeth lived at 9 Harrisons Court, Farndon Street. Richard was a Labourer (1901) and a Hawker (1902).
  
  In 1911, Richard (48) and Mary Elizabeth Jones (38) had been married 13 years and had four children with them. Another two had died.
