Eliza was born in December 1858 in Manchester.1  Eliza's father was John Eddowes and her mother was Mary Thomas.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Eddowes and Charlotte Morris. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Thomas, Eliza, John, George, Emma, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 1 in December 1859 in Manchester.1
