Richard Crompton

Richard was born in December 1845 in Bolton.¹

Richard's father was James Crompton and his mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Mather. His maternal grandparents were John Mather and Ann Coup. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James, William, Alice, Ellen, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
