Joseph was born in June 1896 in Bolton and his baptism took place on May 20th, 1896 at St. Matthew (Halliwell).¹²

Birth Notes

Joseph's father was William Calderley and his mother was Margaret Alice Mather. His maternal grandparents were James Mather and Maria Hulme. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Mary and May. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 66 on January 14th, 1963.
