Williamina was born on November 26th, 1894 in Forfarshire.¹

Williamina's father was James Buist and her mother was Catherine Ramsay. She had a brother and four sisters, named James, Mary, Jane, Jessie and Betsy. She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard, John, George, David, Annie and Magdaline. She died whilst giving birth at the age of 23 on October 14th, 1918 in Glasgow.²
