Richard's father was Richard Brereton and his mother was Elizabeth Kendricke.  His paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Anne Gardener; his maternal grandparents were Richard Kendricke and Elizabeth Webenham. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Thomas, Randle or Ralph, Thomas, Elizabeth, Anna and Margaret.  He died at the age of 72 in August 1733 in Acton by Nantwich.  He was buried on August 12th, 1733 in Acton by Nantwich.²
